Our next meet will be a home meet: we will be hosting Southampton on Monday, June 30, at 6:30pm. Please arrive by 5:30pm in order to be ready for warmups. This post will be updated with information (meet lineup, buddy lists, etc) so please check back here before the meet. This is Senior Night, meaning that we will be honoring our graduating seniors at the meet: Ana Leino, Kathryn Strait, and Ainsley Walker.
Due to the upcoming July 4 celebrations (and some might say the World Cup), the theme of the meet is “USA” so come dressed and decorated accordingly!
Please review the list of swimmers who will NOT be attending the meet for accuracy. If you are not attending this meet and your name is not on this list, it is imperative that you email the coach AS SOON AS POSSIBLE.
The Buddy List has been updated for this meet. You should show your support for your buddy by preparing a sign and displaying it at the pool, ideally in time for Monday morning practice (and certainly by the meet start time). Best wishes for our graduating seniors — Ana, Kathryn and Ainsley — would be nice, too. Due to absences your Buddy may have changed from last week. As usual the list will also be posted next to the meet line-up so you can see what events your buddy is swimming. Support your buddy!
Below is the current meet line-up. Please be aware that last minute cancellations can occur that change the lineup slightly; you will still need to check the line-up posted at the meet when you arrive for warmups. The Novice events at this meet are Freestyle and Backstroke, so the order of events at this meet closely follows the event number: the order of strokes is IM/Free/Back/Breast/Fly. As always the mite relays are first and the other relays are last.
Even experienced swimmers and swim parents could benefit from reading pages 22-23 in the swim team handbook about swim meet routines and procedures, as well as this post about how the coaches determine meet line-ups.
See you at the meet!
