JRAC Championship Information

The 2014 JRAC Championship Meet will be held at the NOVA Aquatic Center on July 24-25. As many of you know, Champs is an exciting time where our little ones race against the best of the best. We are so incredibly proud of your children’s accomplishments! This post will be updated with information about the meet as it becomes available, so check back here often in the upcoming week. Important updates and notices will also be sent out by email.

The championship roster is here. Congratulations to all of you for all your hard work! Qualifying for champs and making the squad is a significant accomplishment. We’ll have a great time together.

Ridgetop warmups at are 8am on Thursday and 7:30am on Friday. Mites and midgets will warm up for the first 10 minutes and older kids will warm up for the last 20 minutes. Warmup time is precious, please be ON THE DECK READY TO SWIM when your warmup starts.

Here is a map for parking out at Striker Field at West Creek. I have also uploaded directions for you. When you pull into the parking lot, you will be directed to park towards the back (or bottom area of the photo). Buses will pick up in the loop area and will return you to that area upon your return to Striker Field at West Creek. You will park in the lot to the right of the pick-up area – Lot 3. Once you enter Gate 3…the lot is right there, pass the grassy island.

Please allow 1 hour before you are to be at NOVA. Once they leave the parking lot, you will be at NOVA in less than 10 minutes.

Also, if you have a Mite or Midget, it is helpful if your child has their events written on their hand in sharpie. Once they are in the Clerk area, it will help our workers with seating your child for their events.

Don’t forget, we are going to McAlister’s deli after Friday’s Champs session at 5:30. This is a team fundraiser, please mention Ridgetop or present this flyer to the cashier. Afterwards, come out to Ridgetop and hang out with the team. We plan to be open until 9pm.

The current meet lineup is below. Please be aware that the lineup may change if there are sudden withdrawals or other unexpected events.

JRAC has published a tentative timeline for the meet, and links are provided below. Please realize that this timeline is only an estimate, do not consider it as gospel.

In the event of thunder or lightning on Thursday or Friday:

  • The meet WILL go on. NOVA is a grounded pool and unless we hear otherwise from NOVA officials, the meet WILL go on.
  • If you have a car parked at NOVA, take cover in your car and if you have room, take as many people as you can to sit in there with you.
  • If you are NOT parked at NOVA, you may come into the Warm-Up Pool area, but leave your belongings under your tent. To fit everyone in, there is not enough room for coolers, chairs, etc.
  • Announcements will be made throughout the meet on any further notices that need to be communicated with you all

Please contact me if you have any questions. See you at the pool!
